Zipcar

Rental cars are harder to get at the moment, and the locations are often a chore to get to. So I decided to try Zipcar and here were my impressions:

  1. Easy to signup.
  2. Got stuck in loop to verify phone due to slow 2FA codes. Codes expire in 10 minutes and were arriving too late.
  3. Cars were available nearby, and in looking across other neighborhoods it seemed there were 1-2 cars within a couple miles in SF.
  4. Finding the car and using the app to open it was easy.
  5. Adding a family member to be able to drive was a fail. Family member was invited and verified, but no connection to the reservation despite being connected to the account.
  6. Customer service is terrible. No phone contact, and have yet to receive a response from 2 support tickets related to the above after 2 days. Car is already returned …
