Rental cars are harder to get at the moment, and the locations are often a chore to get to. So I decided to try Zipcar and here were my impressions:
- Easy to signup.
- Got stuck in loop to verify phone due to slow 2FA codes. Codes expire in 10 minutes and were arriving too late.
- Cars were available nearby, and in looking across other neighborhoods it seemed there were 1-2 cars within a couple miles in SF.
- Finding the car and using the app to open it was easy.
- Adding a family member to be able to drive was a fail. Family member was invited and verified, but no connection to the reservation despite being connected to the account.
- Customer service is terrible. No phone contact, and have yet to receive a response from 2 support tickets related to the above after 2 days. Car is already returned …
